ORIENTATION AND MATRICULATION OF NEW TVET STUDENTS-MAY 2019 INTAKE

The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and Student Affairs) – Professor Joyce Agalo, Registrar (Academic and Student Affairs), Deputy Registrar (Academic and Student Affairs), Director of TVET and University staff led other staff in the orientation of newly admitted students undertaking TVET programmes on 10th May 2019 at the University Amphitheatre.

The DVC (ASA) on who represented the Vice-Chancellor congratulated the students for joining Machakos University and welcomed them to the University. The DVC (ASA) implored upon the students to work hard in their studies in order to gain relevant competencies and open more progression chances in their career. Professor Joyce Agalo informed the students that they can move up the academic ladder from their level of study to PhD upon successful completion of their studies.

The students were informed to make the right choices in their life in the University. They were further cautioned to avoid drugs and substance abuse and other unethical behaviors. DVC (ASA) further emphasized to the students the importance of attending all lectures and avoid cheating during both internal and external examination.

The DVC (ASA) asked the students to make use of the available resources and seek guidance whenever they encountered challenges. After undertaking the matriculation oath, TVET students were then admitted as bonafide students of Machakos University and were further informed that they were now free to participate in all University activities guided by the relevant policies and regulations.

Others who addressed the students were the Registrar (Academic and students Affairs) Professor Ezra Okemwa, Deputy Registrar (Academic and students Affairs) Dr. Stephen Mailu, Dean of Students- Dr. Alex Kamwaria and the Director of TVET- Mr. Joel M. Mulelu.
