Machakos University Vice Chancellor Shines at 2025 Nairobi City Marathon

Machakos University is proud to celebrate the inspiring accomplishment of our Vice Chancellor, Prof. Joyce J. Agalo, who successfully participated in the 2025 Nairobi City Marathon, held on Sunday, 6^th July, 2025, in Nairobi City which brought together over 17,000 participants. This year’s race theme was “I love Nairobi” celebrating the city’s diversity.

Prof. Agalo completed the 21-kilometre race in less than 4 hours, demonstrating exceptional endurance, mental strength, and commitment to personal wellness. Her participation reflects not only her personal discipline but also the University’s core values of excellence, resilience, and holistic development.

This outstanding achievement underscores Machakos University’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded leaders who champion both academic and personal growth. Prof. Agalo’s involvement continues to inspire students, staff, and the wider community to pursue their goals with dedication on and off campus.

Half marathon winners scooped Ksh.150,000 while second and third place finish walked away with Ksh. 80,000 and 50,000 respectively.
