Courtesy Call by Engineering Accreditation Committee (EAC) at Machakos University

Machakos University is honored to host officials from the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) and the Engineering Accreditation Committee (EAC) during the ongoing accreditation visit for the BSc. Electrical and Electronics Engineering and BSc. Mechanical Engineering programmes scheduled for 29th and 30th June 2026.

The visit commenced with a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joyce J. Agalo, who was accompanied by the Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & Student Affairs), Prof. James Muola, the Dean of the School of Engineering, Eng. Dr. Charles Mwaniki, alongside other distinguished members of the University fraternity. The team from the Engineers Board of Kenya and the Engineering Accreditation Committee was led by the Acting Registrar/CEO of EBK, Eng. Grace Onyango.

In her address, the Vice-Chancellor warmly welcomed the evaluators and reaffirmed the University’s commitment to Outcome-Based Education (OBE) under the Washington Accord – Tier 1 Standards. She emphasized the institution’s dedication to producing graduates equipped with industry-relevant skills, innovation capacity, and professional ethics. The courtesy call set the tone for two days of rigorous evaluation, including faculty meetings, facility inspections, student engagements, and deliberations. The University looks forward to the evaluators’ recommendations as part of its continuous journey toward academic excellence, global recognition, and professional accreditation.
