Machakos University Signs MoU with Seoul National University of Science and Technology

Machakos University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Seoul National University of Science and Technology (SeoulTech), marking a significant step in expanding the University’s global partnerships and strengthening Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education.

The MoU was presented during a courtesy call by Mr. Scarlet Min, who represented Prof. Dong Hwan Kim, President of SeoulTech, and was formally received by the Vice-Chancellor of Machakos University, Prof. Joyce J. Agalo, accompanied by members of the University Management Board and the Dean School of Engineering & Technology, Eng. Dr. Charles Mwaniki .

In her remarks, Prof. Agalo welcomed the collaboration, noting that it will play a transformative role in modernizing STEM infrastructure, laboratories, and training equipment to support Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) at Machakos University.

She emphasized that the partnership extends beyond infrastructure development to include cooperation in academic and research activities such as joint research projects, postgraduate training, student and staff exchange programmes, internships, technology transfer, and advisory services in STEM education and governance.

Prof. Agalo further highlighted that by leveraging the expertise and strengths of both institutions, Machakos University will enhance practical learning, foster innovation, and create new opportunities for students, researchers, and faculty.

The Vice-Chancellor expressed confidence that this partnership with SeoulTech will position Machakos University as a hub for transformative education and impactful research in Kenya and beyond.
